caruso.com is (mostly) an archive of my writings, speeches and musings on technology since around 1984 — or at least it will be, after i’m done making the switch to wordpress from the ancient html site that i started with in 2000. i’ve got a bunch of stuff from the ‘work’ pages to switch over, as well as five years worth of columns from the (former) ‘monarch of the dailies,’ the san francisco examiner (starting from november 1986) that i just never got around to.

but i will. i swear it.

the hybrid vigor institute is the nonprofit institute i started in march 2000, which is why this site has been virtually untouched since then.

browse around … once i’ve got everything up, what you’ll find here is a pretty good overview of the tremendous changes wrought by personal technology over the past 25 years, from one person’s perspective.
